With all the celebratory events taking place around the holidays, January tends to seem like an afterthought. Luckily, members of the wine industry will have something new to look forward to with the arrival of Wine Speak Paso Robles, a summit taking place January 9-11, 2018, on the Central Coast.

Co-created by Master Sommelier Chuck Furuya and Ancient Peaks Winery VP of Operations Amanda Wittstrom Higgins, Wine Speak Paso Robles aims to be a premier three-day industry event loaded with exclusive educational, professional development, and networking opportunities. “Our goal is to create an opportunity for the wine community to get together for a time of learning, sharing, and camaraderie,” shares Furuya, who helped established Wine Speak as part of his efforts to cultivate and empower the wine community. “Wine Speak is all about sparking innovation through collaboration.”

Over the course of the event, attendees will have a chance to engage with world-renowned industry experts and top influencers through a number of intimate seminars, exclusive wine tastings, and social events. Workshops spotlighting New World wines, including several in-depth sessions specific to Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, will provide the space to discover and discuss these wines from a global perspective. Top vintners, winemakers, and Master Sommeliers from around the world will serve as panelists, including Master Sommelier Fred Dame, Matt Dees of Jonata, Bruce Neyers of Neyers Vineyards, Greg Harrington of Gramercy Cellars, Andy Peay of Peay Vineyards, and Justin Smith of Saxum. Panelists will share personal challenges, successes and insights, while encouraging attendees to participate in interactive discussions.

Wine Speak will also offer an organized blind tasting of select Paso Robles wines conducted and scored by attending sommeliers and wine media. The “Taste of Paso Robles” Grand Tasting, meanwhile, will give guests the chance to mingle with a list of “who’s who” in the Paso Robles wine and culinary scene.

By featuring a diverse range of topics and wines, Wine Speak Paso Robles promises to be a highly-educational industry summit aimed at bringing the wine community together to enhance skills and expertise while cultivating meaningful relationships. Heightened by its intimate setting and collaborative spirit, Wine Speak provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect with and learn from some of the industry’s brightest and most talented individuals from around the globe.
